About Caldor Heat Engineering

Where Industrial Challenges Become Heating Solutions

Caldor Heat Engineering is a Romanian manufacturer of electric heating elements and industrial heating systems. From our facility in Buftea, we work primarily with machine manufacturers, OEM companies and industrial customers that require standard or custom-made heating solutions.

Our work begins with the application. We consider the required temperature, available space, electrical conditions, process medium and installation environment before selecting the construction and materials. This allows us to supply anything from a single replacement heater to repeat production for machinery manufacturers.

Our Background

The Ozzeybek family began working in the industrial heating sector in 2000, following many years of experience in plastics processing, industrial machinery and production modernization. Manufacturing of electric heating elements began in 2001.

Operations in Romania started in 2014, followed by local production in 2015. In 2025, we completed the modernization of our manufacturing facility in Buftea.

Today, Caldor brings together practical manufacturing experience and a five-person engineering team. Our aim is straightforward: understand the customer’s process and manufacture a product that is appropriate for the actual operating conditions.

Manufacturing in Romania

Our 600 m² facility in Buftea supports a team of 40 people, including 25 production personnel and five engineers.

We manufacture prototypes, individual replacement heaters, small batches and repeat OEM orders. Approximately 93% of our production is made to customer specifications.

Our main production groups include:

  • Mica and ceramic band heaters
  • Nozzle heaters
  • Heat-cool combinations
  • Mica and ceramic plate heaters
  • Cartridge heaters
  • Tubular and microtubular heating elements
  • Screw-plug and flanged immersion heaters
  • Quartz heating units
  • Ceramic infrared heaters
  • Finned air heaters
  • Temperature sensors and control assemblies
  • Custom heating equipment

Production capacity depends on the construction and complexity of the product. Band heater output generally ranges from 40 to 200 units per day, while total production across all product groups can reach approximately 300 to 500 heating elements per day.

Orders may range from a single custom unit to series of more than 10,000 pieces.

Custom Heating Solutions

Most of the products we manufacture are developed for a particular machine or process. Customers can send us a drawing, an existing sample or the technical details of the application.

For an initial evaluation, we normally require:

1

Dimensions and installation details

2

Voltage and required power

3

Operating and target temperatures

4

Material or medium being heated

5

Quantity

6

Available drawing or photograph

Initial technical evaluation is provided without charge, and quotations are normally prepared within 48 hours after receiving the necessary information. Following confirmation of the order and advance payment, we prepare the production drawing and submit it for customer approval.

Our individual heating elements range from 10 W to 30 kW. We also engineer complete heating systems with total installed capacities of up to 1.5 MW.

Materials and Operating Conditions

No heating element is suitable for every application. Material and construction are selected according to temperature, pressure, corrosion, surface load, process medium and expected service life.

Depending on the project, we work with AISI 304, 316L, 316Ti, 321 and 329, as well as Incoloy, Inconel, Hastelloy and titanium.

Available electrical and thermal insulation materials include compacted magnesium oxide, mica, technical ceramics, fiberglass, basalt fiber, ceramic fiber and quartz.

Our product range covers different operating temperatures. Mica heaters are generally used at lower and medium temperatures, while ceramic, cartridge, infrared and special furnace technologies cover progressively higher ranges. For specialized furnace applications, we can also integrate Kanthal alloy and silicon carbide heating technologies.

The final temperature limit is always determined by the selected product, material, surface load, installation and operating environment. It is therefore confirmed individually in the approved technical specification.

Testing and Traceability

Every manufactured product undergoes electrical safety testing. Power and dimensional checks are performed according to the applicable production and sampling plan.

Depending on the product, testing may include:

  • Resistance measurement
  • Voltage and power verification
  • Insulation resistance testing
  • Dielectric strength testing
  • Leakage-current testing
  • Dimensional inspection
  • Sensor and connection verification
  • Final visual inspection

Test voltages and acceptance limits are selected according to the product type and the applicable standard.

Products can be laser-marked with voltage, power, production date, batch information and customer reference. Test reports and material documentation can also be supplied when agreed as part of the order.

Quality and Compliance

Caldor Heat Engineering operates with the following management system certifications:

  • ISO 9001
  • ISO 14001
  • ISO 45001

Products are designed and manufactured according to the applicable European directives and relevant EN/IEC requirements.

CE declarations of conformity are issued where applicable. Selected immersion heaters are ATEX-certified for Zone 1 and Zone 2 applications. Selected cartridge and immersion heater products are also available with UL and UKCA certification.

Because compliance requirements vary according to the product and application, the relevant certification is confirmed during the technical evaluation and stated in the commercial and technical documentation.
