About Caldor Heat Engineering

Industrial Heating Experience Built Around Real Applications

Caldor Heat Engineering is a Romanian manufacturer of electric heating elements and industrial heating systems. From our facility in Buftea, we work primarily with machine manufacturers, OEM companies and industrial customers that require standard or custom-made heating solutions.

Caldor Heat Engineering is a European manufacturer of industrial electric heating elements and custom heating systems, with production in Buftea, Romania.

We work with individual machine owners, workshops, maintenance teams, machinery manufacturers, engineering companies, industrial plants and OEM customers across Europe and international markets.

Our approach starts with the application. We look at the required temperature, available space, voltage and power, process medium, operating environment and installation conditions before determining the most suitable heater construction and materials.

Whether you need a single replacement heating element or a custom heating solution for an OEM project, our engineering and production teams work around the actual requirements of your application.

Our Background

The Ozzeybek family entered the industrial heating sector in 2000, following years of experience in plastics processing, industrial machinery and production technologies. Manufacturing of electric heating elements began in 2001.

Operations in Romania started in 2014, followed by local production in 2015. In 2025, we completed the modernization of our manufacturing facility in Buftea.

Today, Caldor combines practical manufacturing experience with in-house engineering and flexible production. Our principle has remained simple: understand how the application works, identify the real operating conditions and manufacture the right heating solution for the job.

Industrial Heating Element Manufacturing in Romania

Our 600 m² manufacturing facility in Buftea, Romania, supports a team of 40 people, including 25 production personnel and five engineers.

We manufacture individual replacement heaters, prototypes, small and medium production batches, custom projects and repeat OEM orders. Approximately 93% of our production is manufactured according to customer specifications.

Our main production capabilities include:

  • Mica band heaters
  • Ceramic band heaters
  • Nozzle heaters
  • Heating and cooling systems
  • Mica and ceramic plate heaters
  • Cartridge heaters
  • Tubular heating elements
  • Microtubular and coil heaters
  • Screw-plug immersion heaters
  • Flanged immersion heaters
  • Quartz heaters
  • Ceramic infrared heaters
  • Finned air heaters
  • Temperature sensors and control assemblies
  • Custom industrial heating systems

Production capacity depends on the construction and complexity of each product. Band heater production typically ranges from 40 to 200 units per day, while total production across our different product groups can reach approximately 300 to 500 heating elements per day.

Custom Heating Solutions for Real Industrial Applications

Most Caldor products are not selected from a fixed catalogue. They are manufactured around the machine, process and operating conditions in which they will be used.

You can send us an existing heater, technical drawing, photograph or simply the available application information.

For an initial technical evaluation, we normally need:

1

Dimensions and installation details

2

Voltage and required power

3

Operating and target temperatures

4

Material, liquid, air or process medium being heated

5

Required quantity

6

Drawing, photograph or existing sample, when available

Our initial technical evaluation is provided without charge. Once we have the necessary information, quotations are normally prepared within 48 hours.

After order confirmation, a production drawing can be prepared for customer approval where required.

Individual Caldor heating elements can range from 10 W to 30 kW, while complete engineered heating systems can reach total installed capacities of up to 1.5 MW.

Materials Selected for the Application

There is no single heating element construction suitable for every application.

Material selection depends on operating temperature, pressure, corrosion risk, surface load, process medium, installation conditions and expected service life.

Depending on the application, we work with materials including:

AISI 304, 316L, 316Ti, 321, 329, Incoloy, Inconel, Hastelloy and titanium.

Electrical and thermal insulation options include:

Compacted magnesium oxide (MgO), mica, technical ceramics, fiberglass, basalt fiber, ceramic fiber and quartz.

Different heating technologies are selected for different temperature ranges and applications. Mica, ceramic, cartridge, tubular, infrared and specialized furnace heating technologies each have their own operating limits.

For specialized high-temperature applications, Kanthal alloy and silicon carbide heating technologies can also be integrated.

Final operating limits are determined by the complete design — including material, watt density, installation, process conditions and operating environment — and are therefore confirmed individually for each application

Testing, Quality and Traceability

Every Caldor heating element undergoes electrical safety testing before leaving production. Additional electrical, dimensional and functional checks are performed according to the product and production requirements.

Depending on the product, testing may include:

  • Resistance measurement
  • Voltage and power verification
  • Insulation resistance testing
  • Dielectric strength testing
  • Leakage-current testing
  • Dimensional inspection
  • Sensor and connection verification
  • Final visual inspection

Products can also be laser-marked with information such as voltage, power, production date, batch number and customer reference.

Test reports and material documentation can be supplied when agreed as part of the project

Quality and Compliance

Caldor Heat Engineering operates with the following management system certifications:

ISO 9001 · ISO 14001 · ISO 45001

Products are designed and manufactured according to applicable European directives and relevant EN/IEC requirements.

CE declarations of conformity are issued where applicable. Selected immersion heater solutions are available with ATEX certification for Zone 1 and Zone 2 applications, while selected cartridge and immersion heater products can also be supplied with UL and UKCA certification.

Certification requirements depend on the specific product and application and are confirmed during the technical evaluation.

A Message from the Ozzeybeck Family

For more than 30 years, our family has worked with plastics processing, industrial machinery and production technologies.

That experience taught us something important: choosing the right heating element starts with understanding the machine and the process in which it will operate.

At Caldor, we listen first. We look at the application, identify the critical points and work with the customer to find a practical solution.

Sometimes the requirement is a single replacement heater. Sometimes it is a completely new heating system or a recurring OEM product. We approach both with the same principle:

Understand the application. Build the right solution.
